Steward of the Earth: You & I

In the beginning it was all perfect and simple. God made man in His image, nature and likeness, giving us the responsibility and authority over the Earth and everything in it; to be fruitful, to multiply, to beautify,  to fill the earth, govern it and enjoy its vast resources and pleasures.  God made all kinds of trees grow from the ground that are beautiful to look at and good for food. God took man and put him in the Garden to tend, guard and keep it.

Unfortunately man has lost the plot and everything is upside down. Our modern human culture has gradually become one of mass consumerism, destruction, waste and pollution, worldwide. As a result many people as well as all creation is suffering and we are all dying(sounds extreme but yeah) We mostly dont replenish, maintain, protect and conserve the good things God has given to us here. many of us would rather just keep taking and not giving(back) and also make a mess right? doesnt that sound somewhat like a child to you? We all know this. Stale gist. But we all need to begin to take responsibility, start caring and seeing the bigger picture. Let us not forget our beginnings, our Earth, the giver and who we are. Going back to the origin and root of all things is the way forward. Nature, God consciousness, beneficial cultural and traditional values etc especially nature here, in this case and context. I urge you.

The steward of the Earth is You and I. No one is exempt. We can all do this in our own many little ways.  By taking care of the earth, you also take care of yourself and others..and i believe the vice versa applies as well. You may have your very busy job, your family and other responsibilities..you may be a "big man"..or a "big woman" or you may simply think or say that "its(nature &co) not for you/its not your thing". Big lie. dont let the devil deceive you. lol. Its your birthright and also what you were made for and where there is a will..or care..there is a way. But lets be clear, This is not just a thing of doing or doing it  because it may be in trend or be cool. It requires a change of heart and culture. It was a heart thing/process for me.

There are many ways to plug in, from eating right, eating organic/natural, recycling, not littering and polluting, to growing a flower, plant, tree, your own food, gardening, farming, beneficial and sustainable land practices, less plastic and so on. By taking care of the earth, you also take care of the earth and i also believe it works vice versa as well.  Welcome to Steward of the Earth. This is an advocacy and a personal journey which you can also join.  I am here to promote and encourage a culture of greener living, greener spaces, environmental consciousness and sustainable agricultural practice especially in Nigeria where green culture can still be improved a lot for urban as well as rural profit and benefit. Btw The above picture is a circle garden myself and wonderful friends built and planted from scratch at a farm I used to train and work at. Will make a post about this sometime later. 💕 Stick around for more  steward of the earth posts
